Alternative Medicine Books about naturopathy

What is naturopathy?

Founded upon a holistic philosophy, naturopathic medicine combines safe and effective traditional therapies with the most current advances in modern medicine. Naturopathic medicine is appropriate for the management of a broad range of health conditions affecting all people of all ages.

Naturopathic physicians (N.D.s) are the highest trained practitioners in the broadest scope of naturopathic medical modalities. In addition to the basic medical sciences and conventional diagnostics, naturopathic education includes therapeutic nutrition, botanical medicine, homeopathy, natural childbirth, classical Chinese medicine, hydrotherapy, naturopathic manipulative therapy, pharmacology and minor surgery.

Reviews:

Childish and Ill-informed
When an ex-con and pyramid-scheme expert starts telling people to turn away from pharmaceuticals and processed food and toward...magnets and colonics (?) I have to think Mr. Trudeau is only perpetuating the idea that health advocates are a bunch of whackos--the very conspiracy he seems to rail against.
Dr. Andrew Weil and other respected medical professionals have done so much to educate americans and change people's attitudes towards things like meditation, yoga, stress management and just simply eating your vegetables for good health, rather than relying on pills and potions and quick-fixes.
When someone like this comes along its a bit silly. Why listen to a child's surly rant when there are knowledgeable adults in the room?
Read reviews before buying any book
I think this book is not as bad as some portray it. Some of the reviews here are on the edge of being hateful, and I think it's wrong. A review should be about the contents of the book, not about the way one feels about the author. I bought the book and I did find some useful info about alternative medicine. There is also lots of insight about the way big money influences the decision making of FDA. Just for that the book deserves four stars...

Having said all that, I must admit that I have expected much more from "Natural Cures". No doubt Kevin Trudeau is a good promoter. He is so convincing in his infomercials that it is really hard not to buy the products he advertises. However, the book does not deliver everything what one would expect to get judging by the title and the infomercial.

Supposedly I would get a lot more at the authors' website. He constantly refers to his website where one supposedly would get full explanation for various topics. The only problem is that no one can get any explanation free of charge. Once I landed at the website, I realized that there is nothing that you could learn unless you come up with some kind of a payment!

I was inclined to pay the website membership fee but first I went back to Amazon to read more reviews. Based on many warnings in the reviews, I decided not to pay. Instead I followed a link to a book titled "Cure the Incurable" This book in not only cheaper, but it also contains a whole wealth of complete information that I expected to find in "Natural Cures..." but never did. The only problem with this book is that the author, dr. Tombak, offen refers to the earlier published title on the assumpiton that the reader is already familiar with his first book. Therefore it is a better idea to first read the bestseller "Can We Live 150?"

I did not return Kevin's book but if I were as well informed as I am now, I would not have bought it. I ended up buying two books, while all I really needed is to buy the second one (Cure the Incurable).

So folks, learn from my mistake and read the reviews first before buying a book. After you read a number of reviews, you will be able to make the right decision, even though some of the reviews might be inappropriate.
Natural Scam - gives holistic medicine a black eye!
This book is completely worthless. I purchased it three weeks ago and after getting through the first two chapters I felt completely ripped off. I am a big believer in holistic and natural methods of treatment for many health problems. This book is a complete waste of your time and money. Amazon needs to have a Zero Stars option for reviews. I fell for the infommercial hype that this author spews. I am just glad I figured it out before getting involved in his website, I have read that is even worse. There are so many other good books I have since found that have good, sound advice. It truly is sad that this convicted felon can give holistic medicine such a black eye.
A complete fraud and misleading
The book has no scientific basis, and it is just a bunch of crazy ideas. Trudeau is a convicted felon and thief, and he is out again making more any at the expense of people's health and life.
If natural cures is really the answer, why people live longer these days, and why many diseases, from cardiovascular to pulmonary illnesses are successfully management.
Please have someone show me how a natural cure will save someone's life during a heart attack, or an anapylactic shock.
Spend your money on something uselful.
This Guy is an idiot!!
This man has no medical training and should have his book taken off the shelves. He is pulling one over our eyes and laughing at us all for buying his book. He actually said how do you know that doctors know what they are talking about. Maybe because they can't have a license to practice if they didn't spend the 7-10 years in school. This man is an A+ con artist. He did it with credit cards and now he is doing it at our expense. I watched a television interview with him and everytime the interviewer said something that was correct and went against what was in his best interest. He got angry and very defensive. DO NOT BUY THIS BOOK!!! I am sad that this man is stealing everyone's money with his so called natural cures!!
